Kenji Nagai was a Japanese video journalist working for APF News who was shot dead by Myanmar military soldiers on 27 September 2007 while covering the Saffron Revolution pro-democracy protests in Yangon. Footage showed a soldier approaching Nagai as he lay on the ground and shooting him at point-blank range. He was 50 years old. The Myanmar military claimed he was killed by a stray bullet, contradicted by the video evidence.
